We seem to be having a difficulty with clicking on the names of Alliance Leaders. We're working on this at the moment. However, you are still able to contact your Alliance Leaders by PM. If you go to "Quick Message" at the top of your Evo page and type in their names, it should get through.

The Administration

The new server arrived and we've got it installed and online in Maidenhead, UK.

The move is starting in a moment, after tick 1394 (Day 59 01:00:00 UTC):

1. Install copy of Evolution on new server - DONE
2. Stop Evo, copy Evo's database from old server to new server, make Evo on both servers use new database - DONE
3. Synchronise avatars, alliance images etc. to new server - DONE
   NOTE: If you upload a new avatar during this time, it may not survive the move...
4. Change www.playevo.com to use the new server rather than the old one - DONE
5. ??? - ???
6. Everything works as usual! - DONE. Please post if you notice anything wrong.

There are lots of times when we get questions, concerns, and comments from all our players, and up until now, we've been recieving all of these as in-game posts to the Administration. However, we now have an IRC channel dedicated to hearing your feedback! If you join channel #helpdesk in IRC, talk with Support there, who will be availiable to answer your questions from 9am-7pm UTC for live support. Don't worry, you can still message Administration (1,1,1:a) ANYTIME. You can find @Support in #evo, #chat, and #helpdesk, or just send a PM for any personal queries. Looking forward to hearing from you!

The Administration.

Hi,

Due to problems with the old rented server, Evo has been moved to a new rented server. Unfortunately about 24 hours worth of data was lost in this process...

We were on a server I owned in the past, and generally it all worked just fine. We've been on a rented server recently in an effort to cut costs. However, it just hasn't worked as well as when I owned a server.

Fortunately there have been a few planet moves and generous donations, so I've ordered a shiny new server from Dell. When it arrives I'll set it up and take it down to Maidenhead, just outside of London. Then things should be nice and reliable again.

I will have to move Evo from the rented server to the new one once it's online, but I should be able to do this without any downtime. I'll post just before we move though just incase it doesn't go smoothly.
