Evolution Inaccessability

December 2nd, 2006 09:15 GMT in Maintenance Server

everydns.net, the providers of the Domain Name Server (DNS)'s for neonDragon.net were the target of a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack earlier which resulted in neondragon.net becoming somewhat inaccessable for many people for quite a while. Due to this, I stopped the ticker running until the situation improved. I have now started the ticker again at 09:00 as two of everydns's four name servers are now responding.

Could the Devo ticker need a restart also?

King Timber wrote at December 3rd 2006, 16:08:

Why would the Devo ticker need a restart?  Until the code has been improved and the items ordered are transferred into inventory, devo is not playable.

Why would somebody want to ddos attack evrydns?? thats horrible!

This probably isn't related, but my son hasn't been able to get to the Alliance page for over a month; he keeps getting

Fatal error: Cannot access parent:: when no class scope is active in /var/www/evo-ev5-5/libs/classes/XHTMLTableQuery.php on line 12\

when he tries, and I can't find where to send bug reports.

Being trying to access Evo since early afternoon. My alliance is out on attack looks like we will all be doing some serious rebuilding.

Fox wrote at December 6th 2006, 17:43:

same problems.......i log on, select "play" and then get directed to neondragon.net, I choose Evolution 5 online browser-based role playing game then it goes back to the "play" screen over and over................wot da......?

General Dragonite wrote at December 6th 2006, 18:55:

Got the same problem. What is going on ?

Hopefully is it restored soon, because our alliance is going to war and coordination is going to get lost (unless nobody can access Evo5)

Hi. I signed up about a month ago. I got a job and I haven't gotten the chance to get on. Now I do and Evo is down. What happened?

Gharlane wrote at December 6th 2006, 19:27:

I was online when Evo ran into trouble. The evo pages suddenly all produced a "404 - Not Found" error message. That should be an universal problem, not one just some of us have. At least some of the forums are still accessible and show an utter lack of activity for the past few hours.

Edit: Now I can't access the forums any more: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 76 bytes) in /var/www/geneone/libs/Gene/Object.php on line 195

I don't really think there's anything that can be done on our end... just sit and wait pretty much.

Luka2001 wrote at December 6th 2006, 23:55:

i wounder how long we americans have to wait for our end to be up and running?

Fox wrote at December 7th 2006, 00:23:

i'm guessing as long as we do......cos we [UK] aint running yet pal.

Gomisan wrote at December 7th 2006, 00:39:

This is one of the longe routages I've seen, and it's not DNS this time by the looks of it. Almost ready to give it away and reclaim my life.
