imminent danger to your account

December 23rd, 2007 22:37 GMT in Changes MiniRound Security Staff

My accounts have all been tampered with - if you have ever emailed me please change your passwords in all your accounts ASAP. All of the people and emails in my yahoo acct for mt4freak@yahoo.com have been specifically jeopardized if this helps you to know if you are involved in this in some way.

We have an intruder in our midst so please protect your self. I apologize to those this directly effects, which is really all of you since I've spent half my day looking into how far I was invaded rather than giving the mini round my full attention.

Until further notice the current round will continue and "mini" is on hold as I focus on how this happened and try to determine who our intruder is. I thank you for your patience - miranda

Although we've corresponded through e-mail, I've never given you account details for anything.  I would assume that's the same with most people you've talked to through e-mail.  Full control of your account shouldn't affect others.  The most they could do is send a virus through e-mail.

Did this person have access/control of you Evo account?

Blackdeath99 wrote at December 24th 2007, 06:59:

haha good to know evo is secure

Muddd wrote at December 24th 2007, 13:54:

Guys I didn't say evo got hacked or it isn't secure. Rig0 you's been leaning over the random green without me, hehe. Look further into the realm of possibilities. What would be there is any e-mail I did keep - and if it has to do with evo I do keep it for my own records. Some of you have shared more than your game thoughts with me through this email and since I'm not sure who did this or what their intention was hence the warning. If I sent you letters telling you personal details of my life and there was a chance someone else had read it I WOULD want to know. Since this person has been into my account more than once through more than one password I'M not treating it as a random event - I'm treating it as a malicious one. The sharks are ready to hunt so let's leave this one here at the gate to guard it....

Miranda's security update - So far changing accounts, changing passwords, making 20 character passwords, you friggin name it doesn't seem to make a difference, initially it was isolated and now it's spread to almost anything I touch. I am about ready to go poof of the face of the cyber world - this is bullshit and I didn't deserve it, considering the details of whats happened I don't doubt for a minute it's related to this game, there is someone here who is not what they seem, I say this for people like my Skip, and Lady Kick. Despite everything else having been messed with the one thing I can't tell has been touched is my account here in evo - make of it what you will. I'm sneaking back into the admin panel to distribute the rest of the toys muddy clause promised. Have a nice game guys, ttys - muddy

ok I have about 20 of you left - I'll hit you with some toyz soon - m

If you have changed accounts, passwords, etc. and there is no change, then perhaps you should stop looking outward to others and look inwards to yourself and ascertain whether you machine has a key-logging virus of some sort running amok on your computer.  I do hope that no one has been unjustly accused and the actual problem ends up being a cause other than another human beings malice toward you.

Sounds like you have a key logger on your system.

I recommend you go to this site and download Hijackthis,: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php

You then post your log in the SpywareInfo forums and an expert will determin if you have a keylogger or not.

Keyloggers are not picked up by antivirus because there are considered spyware and companies are allowed to use spyware for marketing their product.
