Lets say icons to say you have voted for evolution 100, 500 and 1000 times, Might make people vote more :)
If yes then we could even have a competion to see who can make the best ones :)
Just an idea.

I'll make a post aswell then you can pick the winner Neon. Though how will you know who has voted ? Is there actually a way to track it.

hehehe, i got a laptop and a pc, i can vote at home and at work.!!!!
yes, more sites!!!
as for incentives, i played bulfleet for a few months, and they had a system that every vote you made in a top 100 site gave you a certain percentage of your daily resources, up to 12%. something like that could encourage daily voting.

I disagree knight. for one, it would be equally availible to all players, therefore it would be fair. additionally, if it brings in new players, i believe it could benefit the game without unbalancing it.
Additionally, it gives new players an incentive to log on more often, making it that much more likely they will stick around. they will have something to do during the R & D phase.
not that i am going to become an advocate for it mind you. i just dont think it is an idea that is bad.

now, thats a much better reason than "its silly" ![]()
since it is resources, it would be near impossible to trade them. i think we should worry more about active recruiting then the possibility of someone trying to cheat. there are ways to find them.
or perhaps i am being niave. :D either way
VOTED

wtf all you have to do is get a multi to make land from the resources gained by voting then farm it or get you main to put creatures on the auction then get the alt to place max bids on them

hmmmm sounds like you know a great deal about multis :P
... if someone is going to go to THAT length to cheat the system, they would do it with or without a resource incentive for voting. Maybe not near impossible, but easy enough to track.
anyways....

Maybe we should add some info?
Evolution is a massively multiplayer browser-based game, bringing players from around the world together in a fantasy universe.

Just get and keep it in the top 30.... we'll see alot more signups then.
Do that with 10 or so of the mmorpg directories and we'll gain a steady flow of new players and Neon, you'll create a steady flow of donations / income... assuming that is what is driving all the recent improvements within the game recently.

Adding some form of incentive is the best way to keep people voting long-term... if metal would encourage multi's, how about 500 point or 5 top-level creatures, something along those lines would be beneficial to players and neither one of them will produce the "multi temptation".
While everyone likes voting now, that enthusiasm will get old within a couple of weeks, but with an incentive and the ocassional reminder, the votes will continue!
Just my humble opinion ![]()

Dave i still think the best incentive would be a new icon, Neon has already said it could be added but its putting something into place that would be able to track who is voting.
I'm guessing it would need another tab on Evo which could have the voting sites on it and how many times you have voted ect.
Oropher wrote at October 24th 2008, 21:28:
As you ay have noticed, there are a lot of Mafia games in this ranking. They are nearly all the sames, using the same rules, with the same GUI, just the pictures inside are different. In these kind of games, you get points every time you vote (usually you have to vote -daily- into 5-10 different PBBG ranking websites to get the maximum of points every day). You can use these regular stream of points to improve slightly your character.
Idem for Ninja games.
Anyway, most of these Mafia/Ninja games suck for being all the same, they are just traps for players who are then forced to do some micro payment to stay competitive.
Evo is simply completely different to whatever browser games you may find out there. Overall, it is a PBBG of great quality .

Neon or Ivy.... just curious, how many players (officially) did we have before you you started the voting marketing method?
Or if anyone else knows...

Good work so far :)
We can't have incentives for voting, as that is against the rules of this particular top 100 site, and most others. Sites which make people vote for rewards are breaking the rules.

like Oropher said, this is about voting every day to stay high in the rankings.
For those of you who do this.. thank you and keep up the good work
for those who dont, please join us in this routine. Evolution is an excellent, exciting, and fluid game when the population is higher. This is one way to get it higher.
So please, i implore you all, vote twice a day, every day. lets shoot for a goal to keep evolution in the top 30 this entire month.
